Why MQTT for IoT?

IoT devices are constrained: limited CPU, RAM, battery, and bandwidth. HTTP is too heavy — each request includes hundreds of bytes of headers.

MQTT (MQ Telemetry Transport) is a lightweight pub/sub protocol over TCP. A PUBLISH packet can be as small as 2 bytes header + payload. Millions of devices can connect to a single broker.
