ARP Spoofing Attack

ARP has no security

ARP was designed in 1982 for trusted networks. It has zero authentication — any device can claim any IP→MAC mapping, and everyone on the LAN will believe it.

ARP Spoofing (also called ARP Poisoning) exploits this to put an attacker in the middle of all traffic on a local network.

This attack works on any LAN — home networks, corporate offices, coffee shop WiFi — if the attacker is on the same network segment.
